All UPS systems
are rated by VA (Volt-Amps). This is determined by multiplying
equipment name plate amps by voltage. If the nameplate only has
watts listed, multiply this by 1.4.
If more runtime
is needed, and additional batteries can not be added, simply oversize
the UPS to add more runtime. Divide the loads VA by the proposed
UPS VA to arrive at a % multiplier.
66% multiplier
full load runtime increased by a factor of 2
50% multiplier
full load runtime increased by a factor of 3
33% multiplier
full load runtime increased by a factor of 4
25% multiplier
full load runtime increased by a factor of 5
